Tax Responsibility & Compliance Policy
Last Updated: April 2026
1. Seller Responsibility for Taxes
All sellers on Kwick are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any applicable taxes arising from the sale of their products or services. This includes, but is not limited to, Value Added Tax (VAT) at the applicable rate under Nigerian law.
2. Pricing Obligations
Sellers are required to include all applicable taxes, including VAT (currently 7.5%), within their listed product prices where required by law. Kwick does not calculate or add taxes on behalf of sellers.
3. No Tax Agency Relationship
Kwick operates as a technology platform facilitating transactions between buyers and sellers. Kwick is not a tax agent, intermediary, or representative of any seller for tax purposes and does not assume responsibility for any seller's tax obligations.
4. Compliance with Nigerian Law
Sellers agree to comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations in Nigeria, including proper registration (where required), filing of returns, and payment of all due taxes to the appropriate authorities.
5. Limitation of Liability
Kwick shall not be held liable for any failure by sellers to comply with applicable tax laws, including failure to charge, collect, report, or remit taxes. Sellers agree to indemnify and hold Kwick harmless against any claims, penalties, or liabilities arising from their tax obligations.
6. Right to Request Information
Kwick reserves the right to request tax-related information or documentation from sellers where required for compliance, regulatory inquiries, or platform integrity.
